Liberating our economy through vetrepreneurship

Building leaders steeped in tenacity, faithfulness and dignity

Participants experience active classroom instruction, independent study, weekly field trips, guest presentations, skill-building exercises, and enhanced learning as a part of a series of diversified training modules.

Following the 15-week intensive, participants will be guided through a 10-week incubator program culminating in a presentation to potential investors. You will be challenged to conduct self-assessments related to leadership and management; public speaking and presentation skills; cultural language development; strategic planning; and a go-to-market strategy based on the Strategic Cultural Agility Narrative – SCAN™ developed by Wakeen & Company.

Our goal is for you to succeed, therefore each certified vetrepreneur is assigned a professional business coach and mentor for 5 years. Mentors will help you navigate both business and personal challenges. (Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a mentor.)

The program

Veterans’ Institute for Entrepreneurship (VIE) is unlike any other entrepreneurial program. You will be engaged in a learn-by-doing exercise for an interactive and dynamic approach to instruction that easily translates into a real-world business application.

Business Planning & Resource Network

Develop a viable business model ready to launch upon completion of the program including guidance on financing, marketing, strategic planning and hiring to support your vision.

Microsoft Office Certifications

Each participant receives a laptop loaded with Microsoft Office installed. You can elect to test for and receive a certification in Microsoft Excel as there is extensive training provided through the program.

Contribute to Research & Case Studies

A key to the ongoing success of VIE is continually developing the program, sharing knowledge, building case studies and providing data to support veteran-based programs at the academic and governmental levels. Graduates will periodically be contacted by the Sandbox research team to contribute valuable data for this endeavor.

VIE will work with participants to help find solutions for financial commitments in completing the program. First, VIE has applied for approval for eligible participants to use Veteran Education Benefits and other forms of financial aid such as scholarships, grants, and loans. Pending necessary approvals, most participants have very few out-of-pocket costs. Our administrators will help determine if you qualify for educational benefits.
